ABOUT JARED

A science-first approach to brain training

Jared is passionate about helping clients understand their brain and nervous system — and about making that understanding practical. He believes neurofeedback can be a powerful standalone practice or a complement to psychotherapy, supporting the brain's own capacity to build resilience, improve self-regulation, and create lasting change.

His doctoral research and clinical experience ground his work in current neuroscience, with clear expectations set from the first session. Clients who like to understand the "why" behind their training will find Jared a great fit — he enjoys walking through the nervous-system science behind each session.

Jared sees clients at our Union Square office Monday through Saturday and also supports families in our home-rental program.

Anxiety & stress

Support for calming an overactive nervous system, easing reactivity, and building day-to-day emotional balance — without pushing or stimulating the brain.

Focus & ADHD

Brain training that supports attention, follow-through, and self-regulation for kids, students, and professionals — no diagnosis required to begin.

Trauma & regulation

A gentle, non-invasive adjunct for clients working through trauma, emotional dysregulation, or major life transitions — safe alongside psychotherapy.

Sleep & performance

Many clients report falling asleep faster, staying asleep longer, and performing with more clarity under pressure as training progresses.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first session with Jared

Sessions are 45 minutes in our quiet Union Square office. You'll complete a brief self-report tracking tool, then sit back comfortably while the NeurOptimal® system provides real-time auditory feedback. The process is non-invasive and fully automated — nothing is pushed into or imposed on the brain, and no effort is required from you.

Jared will walk you through what the system is doing and why, answer questions about the science, and help you set a training cadence that fits your goals. Most clients start noticing shifts — calmer days, better sleep, steadier focus — within the first several sessions; we recommend a minimum of 10 for lasting results.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Jared's background in psychology?

Jared is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. He has trained in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, behavioral medicine, and forensic settings. At Neurofeedback Training Co. he works as a Certified NeurOptimal® trainer — his sessions are brain training, not psychotherapy, and no diagnosis is needed to begin.

Can I combine neurofeedback sessions with therapy I'm already doing?

Yes. NeurOptimal® is non-invasive and doesn't interfere with psychotherapy or medication. Many clients train with us while continuing to work with their own therapist — Jared is happy to coordinate general expectations with your provider if you'd like.

How much do sessions with Jared cost?

Sessions at our Union Square office are $150 each, with a 5-session package at $599 and a 10-session package at $1,150. Any unused portion of a package can be transferred toward a home-system rental.

How many sessions will I need?

Every brain is different. Some people notice shifts — feeling calmer, sleeping better, sharper focus — within a few sessions. For lasting, measurable results we typically recommend a minimum of 10 sessions, which gives the brain time to recognize patterns and build new, more adaptive ones.

Is NeurOptimal® safe?

Yes. NeurOptimal® is a non-invasive form of neurofeedback that does not push or stimulate the brain. It uses precisely timed sound cues to alert the brain when it shifts into maladaptive patterns, letting the brain make its own adjustments in real time. It is safe for all ages and can be used alongside other therapies.

How do I book with Jared?

Book online through our NYC sessions page or call the office at 1-347-676-0184. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday at 32 Union Square East, easily reachable from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
